You'll need a copy of the Blu-ray disc of Monty Python & the Holy Grail, to start. You'll also need a Blu-ray player that is connected to the Internet. Your Blu-ray player and your iPad will both need to be connected to the same network.
The Holy Book of Days is designed to sync with Blu-ray players connected to the Internet. Once your devices are sync'd, you'll be able to control your Monty Python & the Holy Grail Blu-ray disc from your iPad—and sync the app to the movie, too.
First, make sure your Blu-ray player is connected to the Internet and also to the same WiFi network as your iPad. Getting your player connected to the Internet will vary for different models: you may need to consult your Blu-ray player's manual. Only Blu-ray players that support an Internet connection will sync with The Holy Book of Days.
Next, Launch your Monty Python & the Holy Grail Blu-ray disc and select "Play Movie," then "Play Movie with The Holy Book of Days Second Screen." You'll see a screen of instructions much like these—then select "Continue." The Blu-ray player will begin making a connection. After about 30 seconds, the movie will begin playing. A new set of controls will appear in the top-right corner of your app.
Once your iPad and Blu-ray are connected you can use the Play and Pause buttons as a remote to control the movie.
The Sync button jumps your App to the Day that relates to the scene playing on your TV. For example, if you are watching the Black Knight scene, Sync will take you to Day 28 in the Holy Book of Days.
The Start button jumps the move to the scene you're exploring in the app. For example, if you're exploring Day 5 on the App, Start will take you to the Cave of Caerbannog scene in the Holy Grail.
If the Blu-ray controls don't appear, double check that both of your devices are connected to the same WiFi network and to the Internet. Then, return to the "Play Movie" selection on the Blu-ray disc and select "Play Movie with The Holy Book of Days Second Screen."
In some cases, If your iPad loses its WiFi connection, you may need to completely quit the app. To perform a "hard quit," tap the iPad's Home button twice to bring up the Program Manager. Then hold your tap on the Holy Book of Days icon at the bottom of the screen until an "x" appears at the top-left corner of the icon. Tap the "x" to quit, then re-launch the app.
